Hello -

My favicon works fine in both Firefox and IE in all cases except when I link a PDF file stored on my site and the file is opened in a browser. In this case the DNN icon appears in place of my favicon. The problem happens with both Firefox and IE.

The problem isn't with my browser cache because it's a new PDF file (uploaded today) and I get the same result with the Url using a computer that had not accessed the Url before I deleted the DNN icon (and therefore wouldn't have cached the icon).

I restarted the application from Host with no difference.

My favicon file is stored in the portal root (and /_default and /0) and in the web root. I deleted the DNN icon from the web root and haven't been able to locate another copy of it, so I presume it's hidden in a resources file, but this is just a guess.

The PDF files are stored in a directory under the portal root created with the file manager.

This is the page from which the PDF file is accessed, which shows the proper favicon (an arrow)

http://www.albigen.net/Related/Nisargadatta/tabid/146/Default.aspx

This is the link to the PDF file that produces the unwanted DNN icon.

http://www.albigen.net/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=rYFfUV2k%2bAU%3d&tabid=146&mid=985

It is the 3rd link on the right hand side, titled " ... 143K PDF file - 19 pages".

Thanks in advance.

I assume the DNN icon is stored locally on your client PC in the icon cache, there are tools available to flush it. Note: AFAIK the icon cache is not emptied when clearing browser cache.
