DNN is useless if you cannot install it.

I have followed the directions to the letter, and it is still complaining not having the necessary permissions on web.config..

I wish you all the best with your project.

I'm on to something that works.

WOW!, nothing like giving something a two second chance.  There are probably a half million sites using DNN and you say it doesn't work.

What exactly is the problem you are having?  What version of IIS? Have you given the ASPNET or NETWORK SERVICE account write permissions on your DNN directory?
