Is it possible for me to Install DNN 5.00 RC2 on an existing DB. My hosting package only allows 1 SQL DB. I dont use DNN yet but I want to test the functionality of it on a dev site attached to the same DB. So is there anyway to install it on my DB without letting DNN 5.00 create a new DB?

You can use it in an existing database. I would recommend using the OBJECT QUALIFIER setting during the installation wizard. That will prepend all the DNN objects in the database with whatever you enter, ex: using the objectQualifier "dnn" will make the normal DNN users table be named dnn_users

that way if you already have an existing table in your database called users DNN won't conflict with it.

make sure to backup your DB before you install DNN though, just in case.

So that was another fear I had, but forgot to mention.

Did you existing DB have aspnet memberhip/profile tables already?

yea hehe guess I will either need to pay for another db to test dnn or I will need to figure out another way to test it and then try and migrate over during some downtime then.
