I'm using Dnn 4.9, and I've added some additional usercontrols to my module of Type View. When I set the Key value in the manifest file the key value isn't added to the Module Definition when the module is installed. I have to manually add the Key value to the Module Definition in Dnn. Is there another step in the process?

Sample:

 Thanks, Burl

<control>

    <key>AdvisorsControl</key>

    <src>DesktopModules/AdvisorScheduler/AdvisorsControl.ascx</src>

    <type>View</type>

<control>

There shouldn't be any other steps, here's an example of one of ours

<

control>key>AdminContainer</key>src>DesktopModules/EngagePublish/AdminLoader.ascx</src>type>Edit</type>control>

Are there any errors when you install the module? Have you tried the module definition validator against your DNN file to make sure everything else is correct?

Hi Chris,

No errors during Module install or with the module definition validator. All the files and locations are correct, but I just have to edit the Module Definition file in Dnn after I've installed the module. I've added these additional controls in the new version, I'll try a fresh Dnn installation and see if the keys get added.

Thanks, Burl

Never mind....

I created a new Dnn install and loaded a previous version, then installed the new version and it added the keys correctly. Don't know what happened to the online version during that process. One of those unsolved mysteries of the Universe I guess.

Thanks, Burl
