I am creating new albums, uploading pictures and everything appears to work fine except the slideshow feature.  If I select it, it does nothing and I see "done but with errors on the page" in the lower left corner of IE.  Any suggestions on how to get this working?

I recall that there were issues with the slideshow not displaying in some of the earlier Gallery versions and correcting it for the most recent release candidate.

Which version of the Gallery module are you using?

What version of DNN are you running?

Are you trying to display the SlideShow as a pop-up (with Enable Pop-Ups checked in the configuration) or within the gallery module?

If you are displaying the SlideShow as a pop-up, have you disabled any pop-up blockers (brower or security application)?

The Gallery project team is hoping to start the latest version (4.03.00) through the release process by the end of the week. How long it will be before a public release is available is unknown at this time and depends on whether additional issues are discovered during the final release testing.
