Hi, Right now I am using languages in very proper way , in which selected languages stored in XML File. However my requirement is quite different from the DNN way. I want to retrive all languages from the Database table instead of DNN's strandard XML file. Could anyone let me know how can I do this task without breaking the DNN structure. Regards, Avinash Kenjale.

it would be the same just like any other data you pull from the db. Can you please clarify your question?

Hi,

See, the problem is, when we go to language tab using host accout we select language from dropdown and add it . so it will aumatically add to XML file. So whenever we select language by clicking on flag or dropdown changes will reflect in URL respectively. Up to this is file for me.

My Requirement is; I want a dropdown of language on login page (right now I am pulling data from database), and when user select language from this dropdown he/she can see the same culture in URL, however this is not working fine as I am not selecting any language and adding under Language menu. So it is always refereing to English by default.

so please let me know how could I change the code and use my own language set which could be portal(Client) specific.

Hi Erik,

I will explain you the scenario:

1. I have added a dropdown(datafield: CultureName, ValueField:CultureCode) on login page from where I am selecting user specific language. Suppose I select a chinse language and logged into the system.

2. Now the main problem start here , as I have not selected & added any languege from the host account from the language page so chinse is got missing once I came to home page and overridden by English as it is the only language in language.XML file.

3. So I want to bypass the DNN techniques abt language and want to use my own.

Hope so I have cleared my doubt so please let me know how to do it.
