I am using "Document" Module, and i wish to read the contents of the file(word, pdf or excel which i might upload) and show it in the website itself, instead of opening it in Microsoft word, adobe reader, microsoft excel, so that i can restrict the viewers from copying, or saving it in their system. Although i know, a person who knows about web, could be able to copy it, i wish to give the restrictions

Is there any provision for that in the existing "Document" module, or is there any other module that would cater to my needs. Kindly help me

If there is no other module available readymade, i wish to go for customizing the existing the "Document" module.Your guidance would influence my decision. Kindly guide me

Regards

deepak

Hello deepak,
Do I understand your question correctly, you're looking for the ability to view the contents of a document (word, excel, pdf, etc.) as a web page?

it depends on the browser settings. whether the document reader is opened inline in the browser or as separate application. There are options like DMX from www.bring2mind.net , which truely converts documents into HTML.
