Actually, your comment has me thinking again. When you say "delete all the files in the specified asp.net directory, and try again" do you mean the files that make up the DotNetNuke virtual directory in IIS or the ASP.NET files in Windows?

no, the ASP framework directory:

X:yourwindowsdir\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files.

i had the same error, and i think after removing the temp files, i got a little further.

won't hurt

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I just didi what you suggested and I am still getting the error.
Any other suggestions?

I have been receiving the same exact message for the last two days.  I have removed everything and started from scratch.  I have given all user accounts full rights to the directory structure.  Still no luck...
