I cannot view my Log Viewer or even purge the Event Log in the Scheduler.

This is the message in the Purge Schedule History:

Ideas anyone?

Turns out the problem was an overfilled event log.  I deleted all the rows through Enterprise Manager.  It took 10 mins and 110,000 rows!!  Now the event log is working just fine.

If you want to clear out the contents of the entire table then "TRUNCATE TABLE EventLog" is much faster as the deletes are not logged on a row by row basis.

Thanks.  I'll keep that in mind for the next time I need to do a massive table dump.

In the meantime, I'll keep the event log in check by enabling the purge scheduler.
