Hi Brad.

Oh, did i cheat with that one. I used the following info.

 

smtp server : smtp.gmail.com

smtp authentication: Anonymous

 

The gmail smtp did not even care that my e-mail account was not even with them and sended my stuff.

That would be great but when I try it I get an error message...

I just cannot believe they will not allow this... Like previously stated this would cut them out of the entire hosting market.  I personally think there is a problem with my instance of DNN or something to do with my server install and they are just using this as an out... hoping I'll go with it and forget it.  Is there anyone who is currently hosting with WH4L and using the feedback module with no problems?

Just tested it again it works for me. But one thing I must tell you is I don't host at WH4L. I just hope that it would worked for you two.

 Gotcha... well it was worth a try at least.  I am almost to the point where I may need to start searching for another host.  I just hate to move again and deal with it all again.

Hi Justin,

Just got it to work!!!! I have another email account outside of the domains hosted with webhost4life.com

1. Change the email address in host settings to the "external / other email address"

2. Change the smtp setting to "the other service"

3. Change the email address in the feedback settings to match what has been substituted in host settings

4. Change the email address in the form settings to match what has been substituted in host settings

Send a test feedback and a test form and they appear in my other email in-box. Short term thats not a problem for me because I'm only hosting my own sites BUT.... I guess if I do sites for anyone else, at that point it becomes a BIG problem.

 

I noticed there is a link on webhost4life.com saying if your not happy with the service email the CEO. Think I might do that tonight
