Hi,

Im new to virtual environments.

Does DNN work in a virtual environment. ie 1 server with a web server virtual machine & a seperate sql server as a virtual machine?

it should work, but I am not sure, how performance might be affected by this scenario.

It can and does work, just depends how good the virtual environment is.  Follow this thread for details: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/118/threadid/273040/scope/posts/Default.aspx (this thread also contains links to older threads on the same topic).

In a nutshell, I have found virtualization to be quite good but then again, I have vast resources to throw at it.

As fooberichu mentioned, it can be done, and I am with him that it works well, given a good configuration.
