i've downloaded a few copies without issue the last couple of hours, but when i try to go to http://www.codeplex.com/dotnetnuke it fails to load - i'm guessing they're doing some sunday maintenance.

(I had assumed they had pulled the release because the upgraders were ending up with non-operational sites - but it appears that they decided to just let everyone run into these problems and then "hope" they have database and site backups).

With every new release there are going to people that report issues with upgrades and new installs.  I have been trying to download 4.9.1 today, but did a test run of an upgrade to DNN 5.0 on a couple sites and didn't have any problems.

I doubt that when a person has a smooth upgrade they are going to run to the forums and say it worked fine.  People with failed upgrades or installs are going to post looking for solutions.

If it was truly a bad build they would have fixed it quickly.  I can only remember one time this happened and if I remember correctly, it was corrected in just a few hours.  I think the DNN Corp deserves a little more credit.

Hi Will,

thanks for letting me know about your successes. That's good to hear.

After reading that TWO DNN'ers suggested NOT to upgrade to 5.0 and, if anything attempt 4.9.1, I assumed that I should listen to those recommendations.

I since spent time to collect all confirmed issues - I'm curious how you avoided those (see list in this thread):
