Settings are applied now under Admin->Extensions (click on the pencil icon beside the provider). I'll try to get updated documentation done for DNN 5 this weekend.

Awesome, thanks! I found the configuration page, but can't get it to work.  Here are the error messages:

Accessing Global Catalog: FAIL
Checking Root Domain: OK
Accessing LDAP: FAIL
Find all domains in network: Could not access LDAP to obtain domains info Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

I modified permissions on the file /DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx by unchecking the "Anonymous access" box, and verifying that "Integrated Windows authentication" was checked. When I uncomment the line, "<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication" />" in the web.config file I get a .Net runtime error.

Well, when I logged out of DNN, it asked for my AD credentials.  So it seems to work.  But if I'm automatically logged in, then click logout, I can't get back in using DOMAIN\user.name.  I get the "Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive" error message.

I'm close.  I can feel it!

That seems to be a core code bug that doesn't allow for special characters such as a "." in the username. It's been fixed for the 5.0.1 release of DNN (http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?ID=9156&PROJID=2)

Where can I find information about when AD sync occurs?  I am running 4.05.05, which appears to be stable enough, but would like to know if I add a user in the AD group, when does this sync or what do I do to force the sync.  The case is simple, a user requests access, I add them to group on AD, they should get notification when sync'd within DNN site.  Is that a feature request? :)

Appreciate it!
