I have noticed that the skin in the 5.0 Starter Kit does not have a .dnn file. It still uses tokens and a gob of table parts. Shouldn't it be the Minimal Extropy files that come with DNN 5? I run the starter and then I copy the content from Minimal Extropy. Is that the plan?

I managed to create both the skin and container ZIPs, but am still confused about how to combine the two. Both my Skin and Container ZIPs contain subfolders called "img". Could that account for the error I received when trying to upload a "combined" ZIP file with both packages included?

Error reading the zip package - see below

StartJob Reading Installation Manifest file
Info Reading Package Manifest - Skin - Pearl-Skin
Info Reading Component Manifest - Container
Failure File specified in the dnn could not be found in the zip file: - C:\DotNetNuke\DNN501\Portals\_default\Temp\nslifplk\img\dnn_minus.gif

This error was repeated for every file in my Containers package.

Ideas?

We found this very same issue and even though we double checked the manifest, checked that the contaienrs were pointing to the correct path, manually changing them where necessary - we couldn't get around that error so in the end we packaged skins in a name_c and name_s method with two step process because it ended up having too many quirky errors, as well as overriding some of the graphics completely making the skins and containers one big mess.

We got plenty of practice after upgrading the 55 or skins on dnnskins and in the end, for the free skins at least - we had to concede defeat and that it wasn't worth the time involved in renaming things and trying to get them to work.

If there is something we've missed and there is a specific answer, please let us know because I had three working on this - trying every method possible to make the rubiks cube look like a walk in the park.. it just didn't make sense.. then I was told by a developer - this is what it's like for them as well.

You're not alone.
