I followed your instructions but I keep getting this error:

Could Not Load Skin: /Portals/_default//containers/containers/light colour header - boxed.ascx, Error: Unable to cast object of type 'ASP.portals__default_containers_containers_light_colour_header___boxed_ascx' to type 'DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin'.

I am trying to install containers. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

Tareq

I am working to upgrade a legacy skin.

I copied the skin to the server via FTP.

I registered it as an extension.

I went through the package creation steps and it appears that the manifest file has been created, but the files were not zipped up into a package file? Were they supposed to be or am I supposed to zip them up using the zip file name i defined in the package wizard? I did not receive any errors.

Thanks,

John

It seems to me you installed the container as a skin, make sure you select the container radio button if you install a legacy container

Did you notice that the packages are created in the Host folder?

"If all goes well the skin package should be generated in the "Portals/_default" folder."

Now that you mention it I do ;)

I was able to mnge together a skin package that installs the skins and the containers in one package through the extensions. I was wondering if you had any info about how to handle the skin.xml (or lack of) moving forward. One thing I noticed is that the mappings that i had inplace via the skin.xml are not carried through the new install (I think this is expected), but how should we handle this moving forward.

Thanks,

John
