My end goal is to have a module the show the entry of a most recent blog (including images and nothing else. No blog title, entry date, posted by. Nothing but what is in the entry field. The only way I can do that with the blog module is to change the ascx, but that affects other places where I do want to show all that.

I can get all the content with a report module, but it the image shows up in raw html format.

Any suggestions?

Hi David,

I would absolutely never edit the ascx files, in any case. I would suggest instead:

  1. Add the Blog module to the page, and delete or hide all the controls but the Main View;
  2. Goto Module Settings and set Limit recent entries to 1, set Personal Blog Page to the desired blog, uncheck Make Entry Description Mandatory, set Limit AutoGenereated Entry Description to 0;
  3. Edit a custom container, in container.css stylesheet add the rule "display: none" to all the styles of the items you don't want to be displayed such as .blog_date, .blog_subhead, etc.
  4. Apply the custom container to the Main View control.
  5. Add all the entries without a summary.

Let me know if it suits your needs.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

I did see my blog entry the way I want to now. This is good.

There is a bas thing here also. When I try to add a blog module somewhere else, I receive and error on the blog modiules. The modules that are added have errors in them or are missing menus. Below is what is created in the eventlog. Any suggestions are helpful

It turns out this was only happening when I added a module to one specific page or moved a module to one specific page. I deleted the page and did it again. All is good, but it would be good to know why this happened.

Hi David,

I guess that the issue arises when the skin engine tryes  to wire up a container to the module but fails because the container's name cannot be retrieved.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
