For solution 1b: Is there a way I can do this in the interface or will I have to modify the tables?

Thanks.

Module Definitions is actually an entry on the Host Menu of DNN so you can do it via the UI. Thanks.

Thanks Bobby,

The only sure fire way to get issues treated is to log issues at support.dotnetnuke.com otherwise the issues probably won't be fixed till much later (and I almost missed this post :).

Let me look at the issues.

1) We have this issue reported and fixed for new version. http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=9025&PROJID=2

2) Please log as a new issue, support.dotnetnuke.com stating full error message and which version you upgraded from.

3) Please comment on: http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=9026&PROJID=2 let us know your upgrade path was. We are finding the issue tricky to fix right now (you are only the second person who has mentioned the issue).

4) Please log as a new issue - support.dotnetnuke.com

Many thanks you help here.... I'm really keen to get these issues (as above) documented.

In the case of issue (1) the workaround posted here might be incorrect, please see:
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=9025&PROJID=2

Let us know Bobby if you can deal with the above or not, sure am really really keen to get them documented :-).
Many thanks for your help!

BV,

You can do this through the Host Module Definitions page.

I must be missing something.  Only the user modules are displayed in my Host Module definitions (I reverted back to DNN 4.9.1).

BV, please note that the solutions here might not work in DNN 4, most of the problems and workarounds are for DNN5 only (including portal alias, which works fine in my DNN 4.9.1 upgrades).

I'm seeing this issue as well and have added my info to the bug report in the tracker.  I'm running DNN 5.0.1 upgraded from 4.7 -> 5.0.0 when I saw the problem.  I don't have controls where both controlid and key are NULL and the tips in this thread didn't correct my problem.

I'll keep looking into it...

Tim
