So what's the deal with DNN documentation? I open the skin docs from the docs zip and it says it was last updated in 2006! Copyright 2002-2005!

I know DNN 5.0 has new skinning features. I do a search in the pdf for "5.0" and find nothing! So I guess the file wasn't updated but the filename got a new date. I find it lame that, for at least last two upgrades, it seems they zip the old docs and just insert a new version # in the filename. I hope that with the new funding, they can pay a technical writer to update the documentation. I am also surprised that for 3 years the docs were in limbo for such an actiuve open source project.

I like to see some disclaimer that indicates the docs are quite old and haven't been updated for a while but they are still relevant instead of slapping a new version and have users believe the docs are latest and current.

and the version numbers are not consistent throughoutt the app. I sometimes see 4.09. Sometimes 4.9. Sometimes 4.09.x. Sometimes 4.9.x.

Skinning document is still in progress, packaging documentation as well. we are still looking for people willing to contribute.

regarding versions number, there are always minor versions (4.9) and point releases (4.9.1), while technically stored as 04.09.01 - and of course, 100 cents are a 1 dollar.

Did you read the top post of the skinning Forum? There is a lot more information in there.
