Hello,

We have a DNN3 with 10 portals running on it (no child portals). One of our customers is leaving our hosting service. So, we need a dump of this portal  to be burned on a CD and installed on another host. Obviously, the copy must contain no informations of the other portals.

Cleaning the project files is easy, but what about the ms-sql database?
A manual cleaning of the database is an hard job (if not impossible) and does not solve the problem for similar requests in the future.

Do you have a smart procedure to detach a portal?

Thank you

As far as I know there's not automated way to do this, but the way I've done it in the past few weeks is this.

1. Backup the database.

2. Restore backup under a new name, this will be the departing client's DB.

3. Setup another site for the client and point to this DB.

4. Login as host and start deleting other portals.

5. Package and deploy

You'll probably want to give the DB a once over though, make sure users are cleared out, and any other content for the other portals.
