Hi,

I'm using DNN 4.8.2 for a while now, but I'm supprised to find the following:

I was examening the ASP.NET Membership and RoleManager functionality (which I liked very much)
when I discovered that my DNN installation does not use the RoleManager! This prevents me from using the current roles in another application.

I can't seem to find any instructions to enable it in DNN (except the ASP.NET instructions of course).
The problem is that roles were already added in the live DNN environment (default installation).
Can anyone provide me with some relevant info?

Thanks!

Willem

use of ASP.Net role manager has been abandoned a couple of versions ago due to limited options.

The "Professional DotNetNuke 4" book by Shaun Walker contains a number of discussions about these sorts of design choices.  It's good and informative reading.
