If I write “<input>” in First name, Last name and user name text box in registration page, Firstname, Lastname and username column of DNN “Users” table contains “&lt’input&gt;”. I would like to know why DNN stores information in Encoded form. Is there any specific reason behind this?

When I develop custom module, I always store the information in simple form (not in encoding form) in database but for display purpose I do the HTML Encoding so that if data contains any HTML tags then it won’t be a problem in UI. Is this right approach to handle HTML tags in data?

[moved, because this is not releated to the UDT module]

form Input is encoded or filtered is a security feature to prevent from compromising your site. Data from public users shall either be filtered to remove scripts, or encoded.
