I received this after adding the DB name in the server field.

this is an error of the database connection. if you use SQL user account and password, you can not generate a user instance (use database.mdf).

coolvibe,

please make sure to use a proper connection string,

  • either using logical name of an attached database and username and password or
  • or logical name of an attached database and integrated security
  • or "database.mdf" file name and integrated security

I'm trying to use an old DB that I was using for a 4.9 install. Is this possible to do or do I need to setup a new DB for this new install?

What I have done, so far, is to use dotnetuke as the DB name, my old user name for the db user name and the old password for the DB password name.

Now I am getting a splash screen that says , " Site Under Construction". Does this indicate that I have something not configured properly?
