I'm looking to sell some modules on Snowcovered, and I'd like to offer a free trial. I'd prefer to offer fully functional modules that will only run for a limited time rather than the (easier) option of limiting the functionality.

Can anybody point me in the direction of a beginner's guide to implementing such functionality? I work in C#, but I might be able to make sense of VB, too :)

Thanks,

Frauke

What I'm planning on doing (and PageBlaster does I think...) is give full functionality from the local machine and restrict it from other machines. Basically this limits it to testing on a dev machine.

It depends on the module, but it's an idea. :)

I followed the example from Alex Yakhnin's blog http://blog.opennetcf.com/ayakhnin/CategoryView,category,Licensing.aspx for use in my modules.  Originally I used to use it for Trial copies as well as purchased copies but have backtracked to only enable it on the Trial version (easy to compile against with preprocessor directives).  I've added a bit to my own version but his serves well as a base.
