In a project I had a need for a module that could load a Silverlight application so I made one. It seems wasted of time to do a module for every Silverlight application so I made a generic one.

With this little module you can set parameters like height, width, source, Silverlight version and if needed initial parameters.

Now you can make a nice application in Silverlight and just download the xap file to the portal and you are done. OK you need first to prepare your site for Silverlight. Read more about that on Michael Washingtons excellent site.

For mor complex applications you have to do a separate module but thats an other story.

The module is a DotNetNuke release 5 module.

You can download the module from Codplex

I got a offline question about a Silverligt videoplayer and I can share the answer here.

If you combine my module with the nice videoplayer in this link www.codeplex.com/sl2videoplayer

you get a videoplayer for your site.

Added a new release of the module to codeplex.

Added test of browser Safari to set windowless=false for Safari.

Silverlight application will then show in Safari too. Have not tested in Mac browsers.

The windowless is  for make the menus visible in a DNN portal. (menus will goes under the Silverlight application if windowless=false)

Just tested the module with Silverlight . It works with Silverlight 3 too. Todays announcement will show if there needs some improvements. Time will tell.

Here you have an example http://www.olsmar.com/Silverlight.aspx

Now with DNN rel 5 and Silverlight 3 a lot of fun can be done....
