I was looking into the default.css this weekend and note that, for my site, I don't really need to use it, as all my (non-admin, non-host) styles are taken care of in module.css & skin.css (all the admin / host specific styles I could move to an admin.css file associated with my admin specific skin). This would mean I would reduce the payload of a page that a regular user needs to download by approx 18kb (i.e. the size of default.css). I could simply manually delete all the content from the default.css so that it is an empty file that is downloaded by such a user, however that still means the server has a pointless file request to serve up. My question therefore is:

Is there anyway to turn off 'default.css' so that it does not have to be served up by the DNN app? Maybe a simple hack, if this is not anticipated in the Core?

Thanks.

Delete or comment out everything in it.  Leave just the file with a comment.
