I have installed DNN 5 logging on as the site host I have added my servers http as an alias but I still cannot access the site from anywhere but the server. I could use some help configuring a friendlier url so the site can actually be accessed by clients.

make sure, the portal alias does not contain "http://" prefix!

I didn't use a http I set the alias as the ip address hoping it would get to the site. I have not found much information on this and can't reach it other than the default from the server. How would I access it with the deafault from a client? Is there something I need to configure in active directory for the site other than add to dns server list? The site is going to be private on a my domain, any information would be aprreciated.
