Dear Forum

I wish you can get an answer for me.

Creation of a subportal of a subportal. third level subportal.

Subportals: how to create them in second and third level without additional DNN instalation?

Here is the situation

The main domain for the portals i have is
www.ldmf.com

At my server, i am only aloud to do one DNN instalation under that domain.

www.ldmf.com

A subportal created already is using the domain:
www.TAO.com

originated in the following way:

from subportal (at HOST>Portals):
i did create subportal:  www.ldmf.com/TAO-com
later assign the foillowing domain to it:  www.tao.com

what i want to do?

I would like to create a subportal for the website TAO.com i mean actually a variety of subwebsites for my users and community members: like:

www.tao.com/tao1

www.tao.com/tao2

www.tao.com/tao3

www.tao.com/tao4

and so on, in order to provide sub websites to my portal members.

How can i normally  do that?

Normally i can reate subportal from www.tao.com by doing one DNN instalation for ww.tao.com and there createing teh subportals as i did explain i did bfrom teh rooth www.ldmf.com

But at this time i would like to do it in anotehr way. I want to keep using only one DNN instaltion rooothed at www.ldmf.com  and any way create subportals from www.tao.com

I would like to be sure i do the correct thing, and here is my idea how.

I gues it is possible to do it is as follows, please correct me if i am wrong.

FIRST i do create a subportal at the main domain:

www.ldmf.com/tao1

Later, assign, at the portals management of the dot net nuke HOST panel control: a subdomain name like:

www.tao.com/tao1

do you think that can work out good or can create a configuration trouble?

my websites are already running with services and i cannot risk that the whole systhem goes donw for a test, that is why i would like to ask you.

Thanks

Daniel

Hi, I think you are correct.

Your maxiumum risk is that the new subportal don't works !

If you have Sql Access you can modify the PortalAlias table deleting the row of the new alias of the new sub portal.
