I would like to prevent a single userid (any user in our site), from being able to log in from another PC using the same userid and password.

In DNN, are we able to log out the first user session in, if the same userid is used in a second session?

We are using DNN 4.9.1

Thanks in advance,

Charles

As far as I know it isn't possible, and I've already mentioned it to the core team. Best practice in my opinion would be to only enable one concurrent session from one IP-address. Hope they'll implement it soon.

If anyone knows an easy workaround I'd be interested...

I can understand one concurrent login per user account

but will cause some consternation for organisations that only have one outward facing IP address.  Might also cause us home users some problems as we login with multiple accounts on different browsers to see how things look.

I meant it the other way around: one concurrent session per user, and that session is bound to an IP address. That way (in case of an XSS exploit) your cookie can't be stolen and used at another location to gain access. It should still be possible to login with different accounts from the same IP address.
