I seem to have a problem with the Synchronization. I first noticed that the site's logo was missing.  When I went to reset it, I found that the drop down box would not access the folder in which I'd placed the .jpeg for our logo.  I synchronized and still could not get DNN 4.9.1 to recognize the folder.

On the blog module, when I went to upload pictures for the entry, the file browser could not find any of the folders I've set up.

I've looked at the scheduler history (as host), and the synchro appears to be working every day.  I've checked folder permissions--and no problem there, permissions are good.

The file manager, in fact, can find every file.  But the image file browser (from FCK Editor) and the place to set the site logo just don't find the folders.  What's going on?

Scheduled File Sync is not reliable and I strongly suggest to disable the Job.

Make sure, Auto Sync is enabled in Host Settings, section Other Settings. If you create / rename / move or delete portal folders using FTP or Windows, perform a manual recursive sync in Admin :: FileManager.

I've tried exactly this: disable the synchro job in the Host > Schedule.  Enable Auto Synch in Host Settings > Other Settings.  Go to Admin > File Manager and manually do a recursive synch.  Go to Admin > Portal Settings and try to find my logo.  I cannot do it.

I have a separate folder for images with subfolders for year and month (I'm trying to maintain a newspaper blog).  The logo file sits right in the "Images" folder, and here's the odd thing: That parent folder no longer appears in the drop down box, but some of the sub-sub folders do, such as "images/2008/09".  This means I can't find my logo, but I can find pictures from news stories.  Even more odd: the File Manager itself works perfectly well and will find every folder and every file.

All of this was working well while I was using DNN 4.7.x until some time after the new year.  I had it fixed for awhile--apparently a manual recursive synch job worked--and then I upgraded on Jan 11 to DNN 4.9.1.  (I mis-spoke: apparently the upgrade halted the Scheduler synchronization). I uploaded files on Jan 13 using Admin > File Manager, but could not find the "Images" folder in the Image Browser window and had to write the path manually.  However--I still had the logo at that time!  Since then, something has happened and that "images" folder doesn't show up anymore.  So the logo no longer appears on any page.

This seems like odd behavior, to say the least.  Is this a database problem?  It predates the upgrade, but could it be an install problem?  I get no error message, but I really wish I could give the system an error message of my own.  Any ideas?

I have this same problem too on many of my sites. I have disabled the File Sync in Scheduler and it didn't fix it... at least not yet.

Turns out that did work. I just had to go back into Site Settings and re-choose my logo. But the file permission problem was gone.
