Wikipedia says DNN 4.9.1/5.0.0 came out last month.  Is it ready and fully tested?  What are the pros and cons of installing it in terms of functionality and appearance?

Thank you

DNN 4.9.1 is fully tested and contains an important security fix. If you are on a previous version, please upgrade immediately.

Does anything get reset when upgrading?  What would need to be reconfigured?

Thanks

If you are on DNN 4.6.2 or later, simply

  • backup files and database
  • download DNN 4.9.0 upgrade package
  • unzip all files overwriting existing files in your DNN installation directory
  • browse your site, see the database upgrade perform.
  • If you set "autoupgrade" to false in web.config, you need to browse /install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade
  • done
