Hi all!

I'm having a server in my basement running dotnetnuke. Since I don't have a static IP, I'm using DynDNS to access the dnn-sites on the server.
I've registered a domain-name and configured this so it redirects to the DynDNS-domain, which works fine but is not optimal.

What I'd like to do is to keep the original url (not the DynDNS-url) in the addressbar.
Is there any way to achieve this??

Regards,
Yonzo

One simple option is to turn on "cloaking" in your forwarding though this is probably not really what you want.  "Cloaking" will set the displayed URL to a static value (i.e., it won't change at all even as you browse to different pages on your site).  Also, "cloaking" does not support HTTPS if you intend to use SLL on your site.

Read about it here:  http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/webhops_redirections.html

Thanks for your quick response mamlin!

I tried cloaking a while ago with a previous version of DotNetNuke (3.x I think it was), but it had at least one major sideeffect.
It was not possible to log in to the portal without using the "full" url.
I didn't have much dynamic content on that site, so I have no idea if the various forms etc support this.

Do you have any practical experience with this??

Regards,
Yonzo
