Hi Everyone ,

Can we have a link in our portal skin ,clicking on which will redirect to our portal home page.

Just like when we click on our portal logo we are redirected to portal home page.

Thanks and Regards,

Ritesh

Yes you can and here's how you do it:

<a href="/?tabid=<%=PortalSettings.HomeTabId%>">My link</a>

Also be sure to check this post for more information:

Cheers,

Alfonso

A more elegant solution is this:

<a href="<%=NavigateUrl(PortalSettings.HomeTabId)%>">My link</a>

This gives you the friendly URL (eg - if you use "human legible" URLs like I do, that is what you get out of the code).

This is what I'm using in my skins:

<a href="<%=NavigateUrl(PortalSettings.HomeTabId)%>"><%= PortalSettings.PortalName %></a>

So that I end up with a link to home on the portal name.

What am I doing wrong? I try this in my skin file (html file) but the current pages path keeps getting appended to the beginning of the url.

In my skin file:   <a href="<%= NavigateUrl(PortalSettings.HomeTabId) %>">Home</a>

The generated url:  http://localhost/DotNetNuke/Portals/_default/Skins/dpl/http://localhost/dotnetnuke/Home/tabid/38/portalid/0/Default.aspx

Why is it doing that?
