I need some help. I operate a community website, and many of the residents are Spanish speaking. Is there a way where someone can select a language and the site is then converted to Spanish?

 

If God does not live in Colorado, I bet he visits there a lot!!

You can get a Language Pack for DNN and the core modules from the Language Packs page.  Once installed (on the Host->Languages page), it should be available to your users.  However, this just changes the static text in DNN, not any of the content you have entered.  There are some modules that will allow you to create content in different languages (check out Apollo Software's free Mutli-Language HTML, and other similar multi-language modules).

These modules may be able to get you to the state you are wanting, but if you're using other modules that you can't find multi-language versions of, you may have to create two different portals for your site for the different languages.

please be aware, that there are no options for an automatic translation on the fly, you need to provide the translated text by yourself (and I don't suggest to use an online translation service).

You could try the Google Tools but my users say the translations are laughable. You can see it on PokerDIY (flags top right) and read about how I did it here.
