Hello --

When we first setup our site we had a bunch of forums then consolidated all of the messages into 1 forum, now I'm getting tons of errors in the event logs because search engines are trying to access the old pages.

Is there a way I have DNN redirect all requests to the old URLS with tabid/1 to tabid/3??

OLD URLS:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/1/authors/569950/scope/threadsearch/Default.aspx

NEW URLS:

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/3/authors/569950/scope/threadsearch/Default.aspx

Does portal 1 still exist?  If not, you would be able to use the friendly URL settings under Host -> Advanced Settings...  although I couldn't tell you what that rewrite rule would be exactly.

Guys - please do not confuse redirecting with rewriting.

As far as 301 redirecting old Urls to new ones, it's fairly straightforward if you have access to IIS. If that's not an option, take a look at this blog post.
