Hi All,

I have a failed DNN 5.0 installation that i need to get some information out of.

I installed it and it worked ok for a short time during which i added some pages and text.

I need to know how to access the pages i built so i can get the text.

Thanks.

Hi Sebasitian,

I dont know exactly what changed previous to it failing.

I had it running fine for about 7 days on my IIS7, SQL 2008, SBS2008 setup. We had an electrical storm here so i decided to shut down the server, when it rebooted my site would not load. No error message or code. Just said it was unavailable.

I posted on a few forums a week back, but did nto receive much assistance. So in frustration I saved a copy of the original installation, then deleted it and started again.

Now i have some information that i want to get out of the old installation. I understand that the text module data is held in the SQL database? I think i may be screwed, as i removed the original database from SQL and now cannot locate it.

I am trying to recover the text from cache, or temp files, but are not having much luck there either.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Regards,

Jared.

Jared,

content of (nearly) all modules is stored in the database, only uploaded files are stored in File System. if your site had been indexed by google, you might retrieve some content from the Google cache, otherwise you will need to rebuild content, I fear.
