Hi there,

I am trying to implement a theme for dnn. I am new to this, so I have only just figured out how to create the general theme and containers, which is pretty simple. What I don't know how to do is style the forums. Seems that if I create a style in my main style sheet it is overridden by the default.css file. Surely the whole point of creating a theme is that I can override this style sheet with mine. I would like to avoid augmenting the default style as should I want to implement another style sheet I would like to be able to do it simply as intended my the system. Is there a way to style it in the same way you style and write containers?

Can some one point me in the right direction. I have tried to do some searches, but try searching "style dnn forums modules" tooooooooooo many comebacks! get more specific and I get nothing? :o(

hi Julieslv

I will suggest you to first go through the skinning hierarchy of the dotnetnuke skinning, I can summarize it for you as, it will load the module.css file in your module's directory in the last that will not be overwriten by any css, so go ahead, and edit your forum module's module.css and you will be manage to get what you want.

Hope this helps :)

You can.  Sort of.  :)

There are multiple CSS files in DNN, all of which inherit down to what you finally see.  If you don't want to alter the default.css, copy its contents into your skin.css and make the changes there.  Personally I delete all lines from default.css and leave a comment when I do this.
