Just venting here.  I had to do about two hours of work straightening out a DNN skin that was entirely cockneyed because of the CSS.  They had edited about every possible CSS file in DNN so it took me way too long to trace out what file where was causing the issue since errors were duplicated in multiple files.

Why couldn't DNN have a "Use only this CSS file" option?  Not have to override CSS in separate files, just use a single file selected by the user for the skin/portal/whatever.  There are advantages to having files that can't be ediied by the user to set defaults, but really?  I count eight trips to the server to load CSS files for displaying a page.  Add in the multiple trips for multiple JavaScript files and there's a chatty application on my server.  It's sad when the code takes three times longer to load than the images on the page.

Okay, venting over.  I got their skin fixed, it even almost looks okay to me in Chrome (Their fault, not mine, I wasn't allowed to change the graphics...).  I also told them never to touch the CSS files again or I'd charge them double.

Jeff
