Hai everyone,

I have a problem when i try to upgrade DNN 3.3.7 to DNN 4.9.1, i get this error:

"An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider:SQL Network Interfaces, error:26-Error Lacating Server/Instance Specified)".

Anybody can help me please to solve this problem. Thanks.

Hisham

when moving from DNN 3 to 4, there are additional pitfalls, you need to be aware, that there are 2 connection strings, which needs to be identical.

validate your upgrade procedure against this check list: http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/186/Default.aspx
