Hi,

When checkout in store you have to fill in the address properties.
The “state” field is then located above the “country” field.
When you have a list with states connected to your country (I have made one) Then it is logical to read, not logical to handle.
I have customers who have problems with it.
They:
-Fill in the address properties.
-Scroll down
-Hit the “order” button.
They “do not understand” why the program now stucks, they do not notice that the “state” field has suddenly got a dropdownbox to choose from.

In saw in another register screen of a site (blackberry.com) that they have changed the fields of the state and the country.
First you get the country field and after that the state field.

Is this difficult to do?
Is it wise to do so in the future releases?

With regards, Ton Hermes

Hi Ton,

It's a classic problem and that depends on the country where you live! In France your address is located in a city, each city is part of a "département" (something like a county in the USA) that is part of a "région" (State). Three levels for a small country. ;-) Because the country list system used by DNN have only two levels by default (Country - Region), we list only "départements". In the Store module, you can re-order the controls in the file StoreAddress.ascx located in the folder ...\DesktopModules\Store\providers\addressproviders\defaultaddressprovider. In a future version (not the very next one), I will add settings to control how display address fileds.

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
