We are currently running an internal portal on 4.9.0 and have just ran into an issue where users are unable to logout.  We are using AD authentication and are able to logout on our development server.  The only difference is that we currently have the development domain set to http://servername/portal, where our production server is set to http://www.portal.com.

On our production site when a user clicks the log out link, it just redirects to the home page with the user still logged in.  I looked in the event viewer and don't see any errors.  I also don't see where the user is being automatically logged back in.  Very odd.

The other issue is that our Indentity Switcher module doesn't work either.  I am guessing it has to do with the user not being able to officially log out.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry I didn't see this post in whichever forum you originally posted it in.

In the production web.config..... is the authentication set to forms or Windows? It should be set to forms or user's won't be able to log out.

It is using forms....here is the entry straight from the production web.config.

<authentication>
      <forms name=".DOTNETNUKE" timeout="480" cookieless="UseCookies" />
     </authentication>
  <identity impersonate="true"/>

Hey.  You were right.  After looking at our production config file, I needed to add the Mode=forms in the Authentication entry.

Thanks for your help.
