I just purchased two modules so I could upload WMV files to my site for visitors to view.  I uploaded the WMV files per the module instructions. I received the following error message:

Silverlight error message
Errorcode: 4001
Errortype: download error
Message: 4001 an error has occurred

The vendor said: "...Blogs are suggesting that it is a bug associated with IE8, or the install path of Beta Silverlight 1 to 2. Try researching this your self, as there are plenty of people talking about it. It appears from what I see not to be associated with what we have done in the module. But an end user environment. http://silverlight.net/blogs/jesseliberty/archive/2008/01/31/download-error-code-4001.aspx ..."

Suggestions anyone? - I'm using IE 7.  The WMVs I'm using came directly from Microsoft and were Microsoft-produced.  Not sure what to fix in my "end user environment"

What module did you use?  Is it a Silverlight 1 or Silverlight 2 module?

The Blog you refer to is an old behavior in the beta of Silverlight. However you can get this error in Silverlight 2 too if the application dont find the file its looking for in your case the media file.

Tell us more about your module and it will bee easier to give you a better answer.

OK, I cant see what version there but maybee it doesent matter. (I think its Silverlight 1)

If you can see the demo from Interactives site without problem you know if you have a problem with your browser. If you see it the problem will be in your installation of DNN.

From where do you get the wideos from your site or from an other site?

If it is from your own site try to check if the wideo is placed in the right directory and the name is correct.
