I created a module from a previously working ASP.Net web page, and when I open the page as Host I see the following error:

Unhandled error loading module.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled Error Adding Module to ContentPane ---> System.Web.HttpException: You can only have one control on a page. at System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlHead.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Skin.InjectModule(Control objPane, ModuleInfo objModule, PortalSettings PortalSettings) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

The page works, But on a normal login I see this error:

Module Load Warning
One or more of the modules on this page did not load. This may be temporary. Please refresh the page (click F5 in most browsers). If the problem persists, please let the Site Administrator know.

Any Ideas on what "You can only have one control on a page. You can only have one control on a page." is?

What control is causing the issue.  I cant tell.

Does the module have it's own form tag?

DotNetNuke supplies a form tag and you can only have one in an aspnet page unless you do some additional wrangling.

Thanks for the response, I cant believe no one has ANY ideas of where to start looking.

No, I originally left the form tag in, but got an error.  I googled the error and found the form tag issue.  I removed the form tag, and this is the error I am left with.

Do you have ANY other ideas of where or how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks!!

The HtmlHead reference is the key here.  You have multiple instances of this control being instantiated, which is not allowed at the page level.  Remove all references to form, BODY, and HEAD from your resulting module -- these are all handled by DotNetNuke.  Your resultant markup should mirror what would be found in an ASCX UserControl (and not a ASPX page).

Hope this helps!

THANK YOU!!!

It also turns out that I had a script manager for my ajax UpdatePanel, that was causing the rest of the errors.

This being my first module it really has been trial and error, so I appreciate the help!!

For anyone else who reads this, the points to take away are:

No

form, head, body, scriptmanger in modules!!
