Hi Guys,

I am developing a dnn module where i need to access the page body tag and register some client script on its load event, I have written very simple code to do that but its not working

        Dim jsFunction As String
        jsFunction = "<script type='text/javascript'>function Clickme(){ Hi its me'); }</script>"
        Page.ClientScript.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Me.GetType(), "Clickme()", jsFunction)
        Dim body As System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl = CType(Page.FindControl("body"), System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlGenericControl)
        body.Attributes.Add("onload", "Clickme()")

Without dnn framework its work fine.

Any suggestion to solve this problem will be high valuable for me

Thank.

The DNNClientAPI class (in namespace DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities) provides a shared method to add a client-side event handler to the body tag:

Public Shared Sub AddBodyOnloadEventHandler(ByVal objPage As Page, ByVal strJSFunction As String)

An alternate, client-side method is here:

  Force JavaScript to run AFTER a DotNetNuke page is fully loaded

Thank guys for your quick and positive response.

I am able to call my javascript function on the load event of Body by using the fucntion

DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.DNNClientAPI.AddBodyOnloadEventHandler(Me.Page, "initialize();")

I have one other problem, I have to call one other javascript function on the onunload event of Body, how can i do that.

Thank once again for your reply to this post.

The same client-side solution I linked will allow you to attach an "unload" event to the BODY tag after the tag is rendered client-side.

Cheers!
