We are really liking the direction the events module is going.  After a bit of testing these were the issues that we found that might need to be looked at:

·         Settings while editing the Settings (if the page refreshes for any reason- all information not Updated is lost).

o   Moderation Settings

§  Moderate ALL Event/Enrollment Changes –does not work (it seems to always make the editor authorize a new registration no matter if the box is checked or not).

·         Add Event

o   All Day Event – End date must be different than Start Date – forces the event to display on more than one day.

o   Display Image “Yes”

§  Link Type: File defaults back to first file listed every time the page is refreshed. Even if the image has already been Updated before.

o   Enrollment – must be a registered user to enroll into an event.  There is no option to allow ALL USERS.

·         Edit Location – Does not allow for any text description. Only a URL.

·         Location Information – Takes you to the URL but opens on the same window – No option to open in a new window.

·         Export Series to Desktop – Single event opens up in Outlook.  Series gets this error: The file “file.name” is not a valid internet calendar file.

Let me know if anyone else is having similar issues.  Thanks!

Thanks for highlighting these, we'll certainly work through them.

Just one point though, unless it has changed in DNN 5, I think Registered Users is the same as All Users since I think someone has to be in the Registered Users security role to log onto the site. Or is that different if you are using AD?

Cheers
Roger

  • Settings being lost - Can you provide an specific example, then we can see what is going on
  • Location URL - open in new window - Please can you request the functionality you want via Gemini, because the way it works is currently by design.
  • Could you email me the generated export file from the series, then I can check if the file has been generated wrong, and identify your specific settings. Email webmaster @ the domain in my profile.

Thanks
Roger

I wasn't actually the one testing this, but what my colleague was meaning was people who are not registered on the site at all would have the ability to register for an event.  So anyone in the public could register for an event.

Thanks

I will get you the exact scenario and post back tomorrow with the setting being lost.

I will email you the calendar file right away.
