I created a new module in ASP.Net for my Dnn Website and my custom module needs to copy (codebehind) a Pdf file to a share on another server. But, I can't give access to Network Service account to the share and I think I need to change the account on my Website (Network Service) for a new Global account. Is it possible to make this change?

If I'm going to the Host Settings, I'm not able to change account...

Thanks

the network service account is the account that the application pool is running under, so you can change it there to a domain account that has sufficent permissions to run asp.net on the web server and also store your files - see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms998297.aspx for details.

Hi Cathal,

I try it this morning and my DNN is running sucessful. But, DNN have need to write on the C:\Windows\Temp if you going to Host Settings for example. Then after change account don't remember to give permissions to this folder.

Thanks,

Sylvain

I'm sorry I didn't quite understand your response.

If you mean that you're getting a permissions error on c:\windows\temp, that would indicate that you haven't granted the necessary permissions to that folder. Any asp.net function that uses serialization uses c:\windows\temp (or more accurately %TEMP%) as a location for creating temporary assemblies, so your asp.net user needs "modify" permissions for this folder
