If you are using a copy of development.config comment out the following line:

    <trust level="Medium" originUrl=".*" />

I had the same problem and commenting out this line the installation went thru.

My enviroment: Vista Ultimate, SQL Express 2008, IIS7

IM getting this error, on trying to install on a GoDaddy host. DNN 5.

Ive installed DNN 5 on a Godaddy hosting account before, but for some reason i started getting this error. What does this error mean?

The reason why this "fix" works is because AJAX won't work in medium trust unless it is installed in the GAC. MS Ajax needs to be physically installed on the server in order for AJAX to run on DNN in medium trust. Commenting out this line makes DNN work in full trust which thus cancels out the requirement.

GoDaddy I'm afraid only works in medium trust (which is not a fun situation) so the above workaround won't work at all. GoDaddy needs to make AJAX available on their servers GAC (as they insist on medium trust), so you need to contact them and get them to make sure it's there and working (if they are going to support it)....

Good luck!

I've just had the same issue, clean install of v5.00.01 against sql 2008 Express, development.config didn't work, but release.config does.
