I'm building a website for a friends company and would like to use DNN.  I'm an experienced developer (albeit with c#) but I'm not sure if I should be downloading the source code, or just the starter kit...or something else?

I'm going to be adding on the Magic Content module to allow him to post content in multiple languages.

Also, should I be using version 5, or 4.9?

Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Start with 4.9, use install version. Add the Magic Content and maybe other multiple language modules and try it out.

5.0 is not yet for production.

In fact you never need the starter kit or source versions.
