I've seen several tutorials on how to setup Shared SSL in DotNetNuke, but I need to do the reverse: setup IIS so that I can have my DNN portals do shared SSL.

Here's my setup:

Default portal is www.mysite.com with child portals of extranet.mysite.com and www.othersite.com.  All of these run off a single IIS Site called MySite.  I have an SSL certificate for extranet.mysite.com and, because I'm super cheap want to use that for all 3 sites (it saves me $180/year).

In IIS I setup an SSL binding on port 443 with the extranet.mysite.com certificate.  In DNN I setup the SSL URL's to be extranet.mysite.com/MySite for www.mysite.com and extranet.mysite.com/OtherSite.  I incorrectly thought that DNN would handle the ~/MySite and ~/OtherSite (provided they were following with something like Default.aspx so that the request was routed through ASP.Net).  When I go to extranet.mysite.com/MySite/login.aspx I get a 404 error.

What else do I need to do?  Does IIS need to modified?  DNN?

Thanks for any help!

Fixed.  Well, "fixed" enough.  I created a child portal on the extranet portal.  I then looked around the filesystem to see what was different.  I found a folder with the child portal name with a single file (default.aspx) in it.

I then copied this folder and renamed it MySite.  Since OtherSite was not yet public and had a total of 10 pages, I made that into the child portal.  I then added the original www.mysite.com alias for the child portal.

Finally, I took extranet.mysite.com/OtherSite and extranet.mysite.com/MySite and made them the SSL URLs and put www.othersite.com and www.mysite.com as the standard URLs in their respective site settings.  I was sure to check "Allow SSL" but had to manually unset "Enforce SSL" because logging in on the SSL URL was not logging me in on the non-SSL URL.  This is a bummer, but something I can live with for these particular sites.
