Hi - I am installing DNN 4.9 into a personal, shared remote hosting site provided by godaddy.com (using godaddy's application installation menu).  My goal is to have the installation such that the URL for end users to be "http://nomorefiredeaths.org" (my domain) instead of "http://nomorefiredeaths.org/dotnetnuke," which is the default installation path using godaddy's installation menu.  My questions here are two:

1) If I install DNN 4.9 into the default installation path (see above), how do I redirect website visitors to the desired URL of "http://nomorefiredeaths.org" ?

2) Would it be better (IF I can do this remotely from the DNN installation options) to just install DNN into the root directory of the hosting site?

The customer service people at godaddy.com couldn't answer this and directed me to contact dotnetnuke, hence my posting here.  Any help would be appreciated!  You can tell by my questions above that I am NOT a hi-tech web building person, just a layman trying to get the website application of DNN done.  I chose DNN for the CMS due to its high reputation.

Thanks for any help on this.  My home email is:  bbriley AT gmail.com

2 - Yes.  Which makes 1 irelevant.

You can use a redirect file in the root of your GoDaddy site to do a response.redirect to the installation folder.  In fact, GoDaddy recommends a meta-refresh, see:

http://help.godaddy.com/topic/150/article/1463

But, better is installing to the root.  Take a look at:  (You must register on the site)
