Also remember that an MS Access would not work on a number of Hosts due to security. I believe that you are not able to access an MS Access database in Medium Trust. (Please correct me if I am wrong). This is one of the things that has suppose to have been sorted in .Net 2

Access can't work in medium trust in asp.net 1.1, but can in asp.net 2.0. For this reason some hosts only offer sql hosting for asp.net 1.1, as they do not wish to run in too low a security context.

The free SQL Express is for personal use only I believe. It's not for commercial use.

Microsoft site
SQL Server 2005 Express Edition is the free, easy-to-use, lightweight version of SQL Server 2005. SQL Server Express is free to download, free to redistribute, and easy for new developers to use immediately.

See http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/express/default.mspx for more info.

But still, even if SQL Express is free for commercial use, I still prefer not to have a 100MB+ installation on top of DNN already for my clients/customers.

If possible, can someone help make a MS Access provider for DNN3 (just like DNN2). Even if that means cutdown functionality in DNN3.

Also, using DNN 4 relies on company or one to use Visual Web Developer Express 2005 or Visual Studio Express 2005. Unlike SQL Server Express 2005, all the other Express programs will cease to be free from November 2006. That means we can't develop DNN 4 any further without purchasing Visual Studio 2005.

Hence why some of us want support for a MS Access provider....
